AUDIT OUTCOMES OF MUNICIPALITIES IN CACADU DISTRICT

At last week's Council meeting, Executive Mayor Mvoko reported that four municipalities in Cacadu District had received unqualified audit reports for the 2008/2009 financial year.   These were Cacadu District Municipality and Blue Crane Route, Camdeboo and Ikwezi local municipalities.   This is the third consecutive year that Cacadu has received an unqualified audit report.

Two local municipalities received qualified audit reports (Baviaans and Ndlambe), one received a disclaimer (Sundays River Valley Municipality), and three municipalities' audit reports were still outstanding.

"This is an improvement over the previous year when there were only two unqualified audit reports in the District.  We are also hoping for good results in respect of those reports that are still outstanding", said Mvoko.

The Kouga Development Agency, a municipal entity, also received an unqualified audit report.
